Character studies

PROJECT NOTE

Character Studies is quiet portraiture built from small decisions. A coat collar, a wool cap, sunglasses, gloves and a turned gaze are enough to change the attitude of the same subject. The palette stays muted and cool, allowing skin, beard, fabric and expression to hold attention. Close crops alternate with more open frames, but the images avoid spectacle. The series is less about performance than presence: a face and body allowed to shift character through gesture and detail.
