PROJECT NOTE
City Studies looks at the city through fashion, architecture and movement. White tailoring is set against a saturated doorway; denim and ballet shoes meet monumental stone; the body uses walls, ledges and street lines as part of the pose. The urban setting gives the series its geometry, but movement keeps it from becoming rigid. The photographs sit somewhere between street portrait, fashion editorial and dance study, using architecture as something to respond to rather than simply stand beside.
